The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
Nerja is a traditional, established resort, 60km from Malaga Airport on the A7/E15 highway or alternatively the scenic N340 coastal road. Once a sleepy fishing village, Nerja boasts 16km of sandy beaches. All major water sports are available here including sailing, scuba diving and water skiing.

The heart of Nerja is the spectacular 'Balcon de Europe' and the magnificant Church where life for the residents of Nerja, revolves around. This is the starting place for fiesta's and carnivals (of which there are many) sporting event start and finish venues, concerts and the spectacular, family orientated New Year Celebrations.
The Balcon is a splendid promenade along the edge of a towering cliff, once the site of a great Moorish castle, with sweeping views of the Mediterranean and small coves and beaches below, against an awesome backdrop of the Sierra de Almijara mountains.

There are plenty of restaurants and cafe/bars to choose from and the visitor can hire a horse drawn carriage or take the mini train, to explore the centre of town.
