Directions to Nerja by Bus and Coach
Getting there
Once you have passed through the baggage area, as you leave the
airport terminal you will see the bus stop to Malaga in front of you
Catch the bus to Malaga bus station, it is ‘Linea A’ (line A) – this costs
around €2.00 per person. There is a new bus every thirty minutes. The
journey takes twenty
One you get to Malaga bus station you will need the coach to Nerja
You must buy your ticket from Malaga bus station (not on the bus! The
driver may refuse travel) to Nerja from the Alsa ticket office in the main
hall. This has proved to be hard to find at times but if you look at the
information screens, it will tell you which booth to go to for the
destination of Nerja, this now costs around €6.00-€7.00 one way, per
person. Be sure to buy a return if you wish to travel back to the airport
this way – each coach gets booked in advance so you should have a
date and time
If you have luggage, feel free to place it in the under luggage hold
yourself, it’s the norm to open/close this as you please, including when
you get off
Some coaches are direct and take just one hour, some take between
an hour and an hour and a half
You will need to get off when the driver calls for Nerja. You will find
yourself at the bus stop which is outlined on this google map: http://bit.ly/1ponYOv
If you need a taxi to get to your accommodation even if it’s via the key
collection place, there are many ready and waiting at the stop
Getting back
If you wish to travel back to the airport using the coach service and
you haven’t bought a return ticket, be sure to buy your coach tickets
from the booth which is located opposite where you got off. Coaches
get booked very quickly in advance! The coaches depart from this
location too.
Once you get to Malaga bus station, see the display screen to find
which terminal ‘Linea A’ is departing from, you can go straight to this
stop and pay for your ticket once on board
