Feria 2014

October 3, 2014 by RentInNerja Leave a Comment

So very excited for this years Feria – it’s become quite a tradition for us here at RentIn Nerja

This years Feria will be held from Wednesday 9th – 13th October, so not long now!

This will be held in Carabeo/Parador and will mainly be in the ‘Huertos de Carabeo’ car park behind Calle Carabeo. It does stretch out of here and all along to the roundabout at the bottom of Prolong. Rodriguez Acosta (last year this was where the huge dance tent was!)

Click here to see the area of the Feria: http://bit.ly/1x38pSC

Q: What can I expect from this years Feria?

A: Expect live music, bands and entertainment. Many bars and yummy food stalls (we recommend the jacket potato stall – never have I had such a delicious hot potato, traditionally cooked in an outdoor stove!) There will also be many funfair rides for all ages. Don’t forget the fireworks on the first night!

During the day there will be many types of entertainment dotted around Nerja, dancers and music – mainly around Calle Antonio Millon

Look out for the procession taking place around the El Salvador church on the Balcon

Q: Will the Tutti Frutti Plaza be hosting any Feria fun?

A: We’re not 100% sure but they usually do! So if you’re staying on the Torrecilla side of the Balcon – do pop up during the day and night to the Plaza to see what’s happening – Calle Jean

Q: When is the parade?

A: Normally at midday or just after on the Saturday! Get dressed up and go and celebrate with the rest of the town – remember to take lots of photos (send them to us – facebook.com/ilovenerja)

Thankyou to Karin-Isabella O’Connor, Eamonn Fahey and Emmy Austin for sending in your Feria photos of years gone by!

Broken Pool: Capistrano Playa

September 18, 2014 by RentInNerja Leave a Comment

After a very busy summer on Capistrano Playa during which the pools have been used more than ever and the pumps and installations had to work at their highest capacity for weeks, we had to find that there is dangerous damage to one of the pool pump pipes as well as the chemical injectors of both big pools which are now broken after 20 years of use. They need to be fixed immediately for which it is not possible to keep the two big pools open to the public. We have to close the pools as per TODAY. Both pools must be emptied and the damaged parts repaired. We are aware of the fact that this is very inconvenient for owners, especially those who have rental commitments, but we could not guarantee the security for the users. It won’t be possible to open the pools again this season as the works to be done will take up at least 3 weeks. We apologize for the inconvenience and kindly ask you all to inform your guests and rental agents accordingly.

The staff will prepare a sunbathing area at the children’s splash pool and keep the splash pool open until End of October, so that owners and visitors can enjoy the sun and children can still have fun

Getting to Nerja by Bus

September 3, 2014 by RentInNerja Leave a Comment

Directions to Nerja by Bus and Coach

Getting there

Once you have passed through the baggage area, as you leave the
airport terminal you will see the bus stop to Malaga in front of you
Catch the bus to Malaga bus station, it is ‘Linea A’ (line A) – this costs
around €2.00 per person. There is a new bus every thirty minutes. The
journey takes twenty

One you get to Malaga bus station you will need the coach to Nerja

You must buy your ticket from Malaga bus station (not on the bus! The
driver may refuse travel) to Nerja from the Alsa ticket office in the main
hall. This has proved to be hard to find at times but if you look at the
information screens, it will tell you which booth to go to for the
destination of Nerja, this now costs around €6.00-€7.00 one way, per
person. Be sure to buy a return if you wish to travel back to the airport
this way – each coach gets booked in advance so you should have a
date and time

If you have luggage, feel free to place it in the under luggage hold
yourself, it’s the norm to open/close this as you please, including when
you get off
Some coaches are direct and take just one hour, some take between
an hour and an hour and a half

You will need to get off when the driver calls for Nerja. You will find
yourself at the bus stop which is outlined on this google map: http://bit.ly/1ponYOv
If you need a taxi to get to your accommodation even if it’s via the key
collection place, there are many ready and waiting at the stop

Getting back

If you wish to travel back to the airport using the coach service and
you haven’t bought a return ticket, be sure to buy your coach tickets
from the booth which is located opposite where you got off. Coaches
get booked very quickly in advance! The coaches depart from this
location too.
Once you get to Malaga bus station, see the display screen to find
which terminal ‘Linea A’ is departing from, you can go straight to this
stop and pay for your ticket once on board
